Abu Al-Fadhl Yusuf bin Muhammad
Abu Al-Fadhl Yusuf bin Muhammad yang dikenal dengan nama Ibn al-Nahwi. Ia berasal dari Tawzar di negeri Magribi. Ia seorang zahid (pribadi ahli zuhud) yang sangat bersahaja. Ia tak punya hajat pada manusia, tidak mengharap pemberian dari siapapun. Ia hanya makan apa yang Allah berikan kepadanya dari negerinya. 1 Bila ia punya keperluan dan rezekinya telat datang, ia bertawajuh (menghadap diri dan membulatkan hati) kepada Allah dengan doa. Maka Allah pun memenuhi atau meringankan keperluannya.
Abu al-Hasan Ali Bin Hirzihim (w.559H.)2 bercerita: “Abu al-Fadhl biasa mengenakan baju putih. Hari itu, seorang siswa mengunjunginya. Siswa itu terburu-buru bersalaman, sehingga menumpahkan tinta ke baju Abu Fadhl. Siswa itu pun merah mukanya saking malunya. Ia merasa kikuk tak karuan.
Demi melenyapkan malunya itu, Ab Al-Fadhl berkata kepadanya:
“Aku sudah lama berpikir, dengan warna apa aku celup baju ini? Sekarang aku telah mencelupnya denga warna ini. Ia pun melepaskan bajunya, mengirimnya ke tukang celup dan berpesan untuk dicelup dengan warna tinta itu.”
Maka, rona merah siswa itu sirna.
